Read, Reflect, and Apply

We read the Word of God and perhaps we reflect upon it momentarily, but do we take the time to really let the Holy Spirit work in us to transform our hearts and minds such that we apply what we have read to our lives daily?
It can be difficult because it challenges us to perhaps change our thinking or our behaviour. We are required to be courageous and deliberately steadfast in this endevour and at times it can be overwhelming or discouraging. But take heart! God will reward your perserverence!

You can do it!

Take time right now to read the Word, pick a verse or even a chapter, read it, and then prayerfully reflect upon it. Let the Holy Spirit minister to you and then take that treasure of transformation and apply it to your life, to the Glory of God!

1:22 (Chinese Union Version (Simplified))

ﻳﻌﻘﻮﺏ 1:22 (Arabic Life Application Bible)

1:22 (Slovo Zhizny)

James 1:22 (Maori Bible)
22 Hei kaimahi ano koutou i te kupu, kaua hei kaiwhakarongo anake, kei tinihangatia koutou e koutou ano.

Santiago 1:22 (Hiligaynon Bible)

James 1:22 (New International Version)
22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Amen! It is amazing to me how God's Word is always fresh. It never gets old.

One of the reasons I started "Morning Coffee", actually, is because I was frustrated at not being able to spend much quality time in God's Word. (You know how it is when your kids are small . . . ) But He showed me that the quantity isn't nearly as important as the quality. Thus - Morning Coffee. The Word of God, in small sips. The accountability of blogging through keeps me consistent, and it has been life changing.

More than you wanted to know? Hehe.

Blessings!

Hi Renae,
Thanks for your comment:) It is amazing how God's Word is always fresh, and yet somehow, it is like that old sweater that fits perfectly, keeps you warm and protected, and you refuse to get rid of it despite the ragged apperance of it. A comfort expressly for your heart and soul...

I understand the accountability of blogging too...you worded that well, since I have started to blog, "walk the walk you talk" has taken on new meaning to me and has emboldened me in my daily walk.

BTW - I love your blog. Keep up the great work!
